With the approval of the E-PhD Academic Committee, the standing unit of the E-PhD Program Academic Committee organized an academic seminar to provide feedback on the departmental-level doctoral dissertation for PhD candidate Nguyen Thu Huong from the E-PhD Program on the afternoon of September 13, 2024, in Room 1501, Building A1, National Economics University.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar was attended by faculty members of the Academic Committee, including: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Canh \u2013 Standing Member of the Academic Committee; Academic Committee members: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Hung, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bach Ngoc Thang, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Linh from the Marketing Faculty; Dr. Nguyen Van Dai from the Planning and Development Faculty, and doctoral students from the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the seminar, the PhD candidate introduced an overview of her research topic \"Eco-innovation adoption by agricultural co-operatives in Vietnam.\" Over recent years, the agricultural sector has continued to affirm its role as the backbone of the economy, ensuring the supply of food, essential commodities, and serving as an important foundation for social welfare and stability, making significant contributions to political-social stability and national development. However, Vietnam's agricultural sector is assessed as having unsustainable growth, with production scale limitations, low technological advancement, unstable markets, low labor productivity, and farmers' incomes remaining precarious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Vietnam's agricultural sector is facing numerous challenges including shrinking cultivation areas, climate change, ecosystem degradation, increasing crop and livestock diseases, and sustainable consumption trends. Therefore, to achieve sustainable agricultural development, Vietnam needs to transform its food system toward a green, low-emission, and sustainable direction through promoting the development and application of green innovations in agricultural production. In this context, agricultural cooperatives play a crucial role in promoting green innovations. The research focuses on studying green innovation activities at Vietnamese agricultural cooperatives in two main directions: (1) understanding the ways through which agricultural cooperatives adopt green innovations; (2) the impact of factors within the Motivation-Opportunity-Ability (MOA) theoretical framework on the successful adoption of green innovations at agricultural cooperatives; (3) the impact of green innovation adoption on the economic efficiency of cooperatives through applying the Natural Resource-Based View (NRBV) theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first research phase, the study employed a case study methodology to develop a model for green innovation adoption at Vietnamese agricultural cooperatives. In the second research phase, the study validated this model through survey data from Vietnamese agricultural cooperatives, thereby contributing to enhanced understanding of innovation activities at agricultural cooperatives in a developing country like Vietnam. The study has made significant theoretical contributions to the research field of green innovation in agriculture while also contributing to the development of MOA and NRBV theories. Furthermore, the research results have been published in international scientific journals and were well-evaluated by expert committee members for their scientific value, contribution to the specialized knowledge base, and as valuable reference material for future research, particularly for those with deep interest in green innovation, sustainable development, and the cooperative economic sector.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
