With the approval of the Rector of the National Economics University, the Institutional Council has organized the preliminary defense for the doctoral dissertation of PhD candidate Dang Trung Chinh, majoring in Economics (E-PhD Program) with the research topic \"Spatio-temporal dependence of corruption in Vietnam\" on the morning of September 25, 2024, in Room 1501, Building A1, National Economics University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The doctoral dissertation was supervised by Associate Professor Dr. Le Quang Canh from the National Economics University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ceremony was attended by Council members, including Professor Dr. Le Quoc Hoi \u2013 National Economics University \u2013 Council Chairman, Associate Professor Dr. Le Thanh Ha, Associate Professor Dr. Bach Ngoc Thang \u2013 National Economics University, and Dr. Ly Dai Hung \u2013 Vietnam Institute of Economics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, the ceremony was also attended by the supervising faculty member and interested PhD candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subsequently, PhD candidate Dang Trung Chinh presented the research findings of his dissertation to the Council. The research topic examines the spatio-temporal diffusion of corruption in Vietnam as well as the factors influencing corruption within this context. The study develops a complex ecological theory to address limitations in the conceptualization and measurement of corruption found in previous traditional research, which treated the nature of corruption phenomena as varying across localities\/regions as well as time periods. Furthermore, the research findings also indicate that corruption in Vietnam is strongly influenced by both autocorrelation and spatio-temporal heterogeneity. Through this analysis, the study proposes that anti-corruption policies need to integrate the phenomenon of spatio-temporal dependence between localities into research to achieve optimal effectiveness in reducing corruption with limited resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
