With approval from the E-PhD Academic Committee, the Standing Committee of the E-PhD Program organized an academic seminar to provide feedback on a departmental-level doctoral dissertation for PhD candidate Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngan from the E-PhD Program on the afternoon of May 29, 2025, in Room 1501, Building A1, National Economics University.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seminar was attended by faculty members of the Academic Committee, including: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Quang Canh \u2013 Standing Committee Chair; Academic Committee members: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Hung, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bach Ngoc Thang, Dr. Nguyen Hoang Linh from the Marketing Faculty, Dr. Nguyen Van Dai from the Planning and Development Faculty, Dr. Truong Nhu Hieu, and doctoral students from the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the seminar, the PhD candidate presented an overview of her research topic \"Local leaders traits, local values and citizens' political participation in Vietnam.\" The study provided research findings on how leadership characteristics and local features influence citizen participation. Additionally, the research clarified the impact of local characteristics on how leadership affects voter turnout in Vietnam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The research has made significant contributions to both theory and practice. Specifically, theories that are applicable in Western countries may not be suitable for single-party state models such as Vietnam's context. From a practical perspective, the study offers new insights and perspectives on personnel rotation, appointments, and female cadre development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the research findings have been published in international academic journals, and Academic Committee members gave positive evaluations of the scientific value and contribution to the specialized knowledge base, recognizing it as a valuable reference for future research, particularly for those with deep interests in local economics and governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This activity aims to maintain an academic exchange environment, helping doctoral candidates learn, share knowledge, and exchange research experiences with scientists and other doctoral students. The seminar proceeded with an atmosphere of frank and constructive discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
