On the morning of October 31st, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) organized a training conference on information safety and cybersecurity. Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son attended and delivered a keynote address at the event.

The conference was held both in-person at MOET headquarters and online across 300 satellite locations nationwide, bringing together representatives from the Government Cipher Committee, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Information and Communications, information technology experts, as well as leaders, specialists, and officials from MOET's affiliated and subordinate units, along with provincial Departments of Education and Training across the country.
The conference aimed to enhance awareness of cybersecurity and information safety among educational sector leaders, civil servants, and public employees. Furthermore, it sought to help participants proactively prevent, respond to, and address risks and consequences from cyberspace, while simultaneously integrating these efforts with digital transformation, information technology applications, and the development of digital government, economy, and society. Additionally, the event focused on improving knowledge and skills in information safety and system protection for data under the Ministry's management, thereby meeting the demands of the digital era and evaluating the current implementation of cybersecurity measures to promote digital transformation in educational management.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son noted that cyberspace has become an indispensable part of modern life. Every individual and every profession increasingly relies on data and information from online environments. However, given the current reality that cyberattacks are becoming increasingly complex, with unpredictable developments and numerous unforeseeable risks, each person must enhance their awareness of information safety and cybersecurity, while also managing risks and implementing incident response measures.
Emphasizing that cybersecurity doesn't just affect specific groups but impacts society as a whole due to rapid transmission speeds that can cause significant damage if not addressed promptly, the Deputy Minister stressed that each individual must clearly understand the risks and dangers from information exposure, data breaches, and security compromises to ensure a safe online environment. Simultaneously, there's a need to learn skills for using and maintaining software and data systems for oneself, students, work, and personal life.

"Most importantly, we must ensure information safety for the education sector and national security. We must avoid situations where a single oversight could impact both the sector and the nation," the Deputy Minister emphasized.
In implementing Directive No. 09/CT-TTg dated February 23, 2024, issued by the Prime Minister regarding compliance with legal regulations and strengthening information system security assurance by levels, as well as Official Dispatch No. 33/CD-TTg dated April 7, 2024, from the Prime Minister on strengthening network information security assurance, Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son required that each education sector official must balance leveraging the advantages of cyberspace, information technology, and digital transformation in all activities, while also developing skills to handle, control, and ensure information safety in online environments.

At the conference, speakers and experts from the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Information and Communications, Government Cipher Committee, and F5 NETWORK security company presented content related to information security and cybersecurity work, including: protecting accounts and personal data in the network environment; solutions and plans for personal data protection; implementing graded information security assurance for sector database systems; cyberattacks and security solutions ensuring information security and cybersecurity by the Government Cipher Committee; current application security status and data protection solutions for information technology systems.

In her closing remarks, Deputy Director of the Information Technology Department, MOET Dang Thi Oanh stated that with the information provided by specialized speakers in specific tasks, the most useful information has been conveyed. Over 5,000 delegates participating in the conference both in-person and online will enhance their knowledge and proactively prevent, respond to, and address risks from cyberspace.
Officials with specialized duties in information technology will better maintain and operate systems and critical information portals in state management.
Particularly, each official participating in the training will not only equip themselves with knowledge but also spread it to colleagues and those around them to ensure the best and safest use of cyberspace.
