Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong affirmed: "Throughout the centuries, teaching has always been regarded as one of the most noble professions. The philosophy of respecting teachers and honoring education has always existed in the hearts of generations of students, being inherited and developed throughout the length of history and the flow of time. Teachers are likened to ferry operators who diligently guide passengers—generations of students—across the river. We are truly blessed to witness the growth of generations of students. Indeed, these beloved generations of students are the source of motivation for all of us to be passionate about this glorious work."
Prof. Pham Hong Chuong further shared: "In today's society, educators must not only excel in knowledge and professional development, but more importantly, they must maintain moral qualities and ethics, especially university lecturers—as teachers are among the most important contributors to shaping the character and worldview of future generations. When students enter university, they begin to step into an independent life and enter the phase of forming their entire personality. Therefore, university faculty play an extremely important role in building the nation's future."
"In recent years, the National Economics University has continuously developed and continued to promote its nearly 70-year tradition of construction and growth. Previously, the University Council of the National Economics University approved a resolution to establish three schools: the School of Economics and Public Administration, the School of Business, and the School of Technology. This was the first step for the university to restructure, complete the transformation documentation, and officially receive Decision No. 1386/QD-TTg from the Prime Minister regarding the transformation of the National Economics University into the National Economics University system. This represents an enormously significant transformation for our institution. Additionally, the events and achievements we have attained in 2024 are also very pride-worthy, with the university's Economics and Development Journal joining the Scopus database in the Q2 category," emphasized Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong.
On behalf of the current university leadership, Prof. Pham Hong Chuong expressed gratitude to the teachers and leaders of the university throughout various periods who have worked tirelessly to build and create the strong National Economics University we see today. He also respectfully wished that the teachers would always serve as examples of morality, dedication, and creativity, possessing sufficient "provisions" to continue on the path of development for the nation's educational and training cause, and for the development of the National Economics University, with complete faith and expectations for a bright future.
With the tradition of "Respecting teachers and honoring education" and "Remembering the source when drinking water," November each year provides an opportunity for the National Economics University and its generations to express their feelings and gratitude to the teachers and leaders of the university throughout various periods, and to generations of People's Teachers and Distinguished Teachers who have devoted their entire lives to the educational and training cause of Vietnam in general and the National Economics University in particular. Also during this special month, the National Economics University had a special event with the addition of 3 People's Teachers and 10 Distinguished Teachers honored by the State President in 2023 and 2024, and 1 Teacher recognized as an Outstanding Teacher of the Sector.
At the ceremony, the current university leadership presented the freshest bouquets to generations of former leaders, generations of People's Teachers, Distinguished Teachers, and Outstanding Teachers as a token of gratitude from the university's teaching collective on November 20th.

Also at the meeting, a special and elaborate cultural program with the theme "Those Who Sow Green Seeds" was dedicated to the teachers, aiming to honor their invaluable and noble contributions in the journey of dedication to the cause of nurturing people. This represents the journey of persistent and persevering individuals who sow small seeds, then meticulously tend and water them, waiting for the day those seeds will sprout and bloom. Teachers are indeed those who sow seeds so that students, when entering school though still young, are ready for the journey of bringing sustainable values and contributing to society after the process of learning and training in the lecture halls.
This cultural program served not only as a spiritual gift but also as a promise and expression of gratitude that the current generation wishes to send to the teachers—those who have sacrificed their lives to impart knowledge to the younger generation, helping us become useful people for society.

The Meeting Commemorating the 42nd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2024) at the National Economics University concluded successfully. We respectfully wish all teachers good health, happiness, and continued passion for the glorious and noble teaching profession.
