Biography

Dr. Bach Ngoc Thang has been a lecturer at National Economics University (NEU) since 2005. His primary teaching subjects are Macroeconomics, Econometrics, and Research Methods for both undergraduate and postgraduate students at NEU, and other leading universities in Hanoi. In 2014, he obtained Ph.D. in Economics from The University of Queensland, Australia. He is passionate in teaching and sharing knowledge with people. He believes in higher education’ greater impacts on the economy and society, by building up high-quality human resources and responsible people.

Bach Ngoc Thang’s research interests are Economic Growth and Development, Governance, and SMEs. He has an active research program. His research works have been published in a number of international academic journals, such as World Development, The Economics of Transition, The Journal of Development Studies, The Developing Economies, International Journal of Public Sector Management, Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy, Journal of Economics and Development, among others. Doing regular research enables him to broaden his collaborative networks and to benefit his students with frontier knowledge of their fields. Besides teaching and research, he participates in doing consultancy and community services in the areas of governance and sustainable development, with notable clients such as Ministry of Science and Technology, Australian Embassy, UNDP, World Bank, and JICA. He also supervises students at Ph.D. level, and serves as a seminar series coordinator for the E-Ph.D. Programme.
