YES, a Yearly E-PhD Seminar – YES 2020

On 23rd October in 2020, YES – a Yearly EPHD Seminar was organized by the Institute for Sustainable Development, the Academic Management Unit for EPHD program in the National Economic of University.

Among many other training and extra-curricular activities, YES, the Yearly E-PhD Seminar, is a core part of the E-PhD program. The first YES on 23rd, October 2020 hosted nearly 100 distinguished guests, presenters, research scholars and experts from different universities and research institutes.

Professor Tran Thi Van Hoa, Vice President of NEU

In the greeting speech at YES 2020, Professor Tran Thi Van Hoa, Vice President of NEU shared the objective: “The main objective of YES is to establish a forum for PhD candidates, lecturers, and young researchers to discuss, exchange and share academic research ideas. The seminar is not limited to only National Economics University but will welcome all those who have the passion for academic research within economics and business management fields.”

YES2020 is divided into four panels with key trendy topics including Team Dynamics, Governance and Social Responsibility, Consumer Behavior and Green Consumption, and Entrepreneurship and Institutional Development. On this occasion, EPHD candidates have the chance to present their research ideas to professors, supervisors, lecturers, and other researchers.

EPHD candidates presented their works, some of which have been submitted to reputable international SSCI and Scopus-indexed journals. Others will be finalized before being submitted. At YES, EPHD candidates will get precious comments and ideas or even guidance to improve their research ideas or further develop research career. This is also an opportunity to affirm the initial success of EPHD program at NEU which is internationally integrated.

As summarized by Professor Nguyen Van Thang, the academic coordinator of EPHD program, YES makes EPHD organizers become more confident on the program’s philosophy. EPHD is not viewed as a purely training program. Instead, it is recognized as a research career development program. It is a platform for us to work, learn, and publish together. There are pains, but also a lot of fun. As YES 2020 shows, research is not only “learnt and claimed”, but it is also “lived and felt”.
