The research project "Investigating the Mechanisms of Transforming Environmental Awareness and Attitudes into Green Product Purchasing Behaviors for Sustainable Development in Vietnam," code number: 502.02-2016.07, was conducted by a research team led by Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Vu Hung as principal investigator under contract number 116/QĐ-HĐQL-NAFOSTED from July 2017 to July 2019.
The research process has yielded several theoretical and empirical findings, which can be summarized across various related issues, including the concept of green consumption, a comprehensive review of green consumption research and existing research gaps, empirical research results on green consumption in general and among different consumer groups, with specific focus on green products, particularly green apparel in Vietnam, as follows:
- Several mechanisms for transforming intention into green product purchasing behavior
- Consumer purchasing behavior model for green products among young consumers
- Materialism and green apparel purchase intention among young consumers
The research has also proposed several policy recommendations for green consumption in Vietnam. The project was successfully completed, exceeding the initial requirements, with 02 international publications in SSCI-indexed journals and 01 publication in Scopus-indexed journals, along with meeting other requirements regarding specialized monographs and training.
