Ceremony Announcing the Resolution to Establish the School of Public Economics and Management, School of Business, School of Technology, Decisions to Establish Departments under the School of Technology, and Decisions to Appoint Administrative Staff

On the morning of July 10, 2024, the National Economics University organized a ceremony to announce the Resolution to Establish the School of Public Economics and Management, School of Business, School of Technology, Decisions to Establish Departments under the School of Technology, and Decisions to Appoint Administrative Staff.

Attending the ceremony from the National Economics University were: Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong – Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Duc Tho – Party Secretary, Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Huy Nhuong – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hieu – Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Huu Dong – Deputy Party Secretary, Chairman of the University Labor Union.

From the University Council members were: Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang – Chairman of the Board of Directors, HASTEC Tourism Technical Services Investment Development Co., Ltd., University Council member; Mr. Phan Minh Chinh – Chairman of the Board of Directors, Pro-Sports Giao Thuy Company, University Council member; Mr. Nguyen Thai Dung – General Director of BRG Retail Co., Ltd., University Council member.

From the leadership of member schools were: Prof. Dr. Do Thi Hai Ha – Dean of the School of Public Economics and Management; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ta Van Loi – Dean of the School of Business; Dr. Nguyen Quang Huy – Dean of the School of Technology.

From former university leaders across different periods were: Prof. Dr. Luong Xuan Quy – Former Rector; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Huong – Former Rector; Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thuong – Former Rector; Mr. Dinh Thien Dao – Former Party Secretary, Former Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Duc Cat – Former Party Secretary; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Do – Former Party Secretary, Former Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Ha – Chairman of the Advisory Council; Prof. Dr. Hoang Ngoc Viet – Former Vice Rector; Prof. Dr. Tran Thi Van Hoa – Former Vice Rector; along with representatives from the university's socio-political organizations, leaders of member schools, leaders of various departments, offices, faculties, and institutes within the university, administrative staff receiving appointments, faculty members, and students from all generations of the university.

The National Economics University was established under Decree No. 678-TTg dated January 25, 1956, initially named the School of Economics and Finance. The university was placed within the Vietnam People's University system under the direct supervision of the Prime Minister. With the vision of becoming a research-oriented, multi-disciplinary, multi-field university among the top 5 leading universities in Vietnam and among the top 100 best universities in Asia in the fields of economics, management, and business administration according to international ranking standards, one of the first strategies that the National Economics University set forth was to build and transform the organizational model into a three-tier university. Based on this objective, the National Economics University developed a proposal to establish member schools, promptly gathered input from all staff and employees of the university to refine the proposal, and issued the Resolution to establish three schools.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong – Rector shared, "The National Economics University has gone through nearly 70 years of construction, formation, and development. Despite many difficulties and challenges ahead, today we have the right to be proud of what we have accomplished. Today's results are the crystallization of wisdom, effort, and unity of the leadership collective, staff, employees, and students across different periods. We have the right to be proud of our physical infrastructure, the quality of teaching, and the university's increasingly elevated position in society."

Prof. Dr. Pham Hong Chuong also emphasized that the world is experiencing many fluctuations, science and technology are making remarkable new advances, and humanity is standing at the threshold of significant change and development in the future, but this also conceals many challenges and uncertainties. Therefore, in the current context, enhancing the spirit of unity, collaboration, and solidarity among the university's academic community is more necessary than ever to gradually transform the National Economics University into a multi-disciplinary, multi-field university, a model university in the coming period. The Rector Professor expressed confidence that with this spirit, the National Economics University, along with its core and humanistic values, will continue to pioneer in education and research across all fields to contribute to development, fulfill social responsibilities, and continue to achieve many new accomplishments and miracles, steadily advancing toward regional prominence and international integration.

On behalf of the university's leadership collective, Prof. Pham Hong Chuong also extended congratulations to the faculty members who were appointed and reappointed, wishing them even greater success in their new positions. He wished all faculty members good health, happiness, and success!

At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Quang Huy – Dean of the School of Technology, representing the schools, departments, and appointed staff, expressed gratitude to the faculty members in the Party Committee, Leadership Board, and university leadership collective for their trust and the responsibilities entrusted. Dr. Nguyen Quang Huy affirmed that this is both an honor and pride, as well as a responsibility for each appointed staff member. He emphasized that the appointed and reappointed administrative staff pledge to strive and make every effort to excellently complete the assigned tasks and contribute even more to the sustainable development of the National Economics University.

We wish the School of Public Economics and Management, School of Business, School of Technology, Department of Basic Sciences, Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Department of Information Technology, and Department of Management Information Systems a complete and brilliant beginning, steadily advancing on their new journey, overcoming all challenges to achieve many accomplishments and outstanding results. Congratulations to the appointed administrative staff, and we wish all faculty members excellent completion of their assigned tasks, leading their units to strong development and contributing to the overall development of the National Economics University.
