The Master of Financial Economics (MFE 1+1) Program is a unique joint program designed under a 1+1 educational model between Ohio University, United States, and National Economics University, Hanoi, Vietnam.
With its flexible learning structure, students will experience their first year in Vietnam and complete their second year in the United States, creating a multicultural and enriching academic journey.
Program Orientation and Objectives
The program is developed for individuals who aspire to build specialized careers in the field of finance. The curriculum focuses on exploring the intricate relationships between economics and financial markets, equipping students with the essential knowledge and skills necessary to address future challenges.
The program harmoniously combines a solid theoretical foundation with rich practical experience, providing students with a comprehensive perspective on the modern financial world.
CFA Professional Certification
A distinctive feature of the program is its recognition by the CFA Institute (https://www.cfainstitute.org). The program has been certified as incorporating at least 70% of the Candidate Body of Knowledge (CBOK) content from the Chartered Financial Analyst Program, while placing particular emphasis on the CFA Institute's Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
Through this integration, the MFE program provides substantial support to students in pursuing the CFA charter – a globally recognized and highly prestigious professional financial analyst certification.
Key Distinctions from MBA Programs
1. Scope and Specialization
Unlike MBA programs that offer broad knowledge coverage across multiple business administration fields, the MFE 1+1 program is highly specialized and focused.
2. Specific Career Orientation
The program is specifically designed for candidates who aspire to pursue specialized positions such as bond analysts, portfolio managers, and other advanced roles within the financial sector.
3. Educational Focus
While MBA programs are designed to develop overall business management capabilities, the MFE 1+1 program emphasizes deep understanding of the interactions between financial markets and the economic environment. Students will be equipped with knowledge and skills to effectively apply existing economic conditions to analyze and make decisions in specific financial markets.
