
Prof. Dr. Giang Thanh Long
Dr. Giang Thanh Long is currently an Associate Professor at the National Economics University. He is also a research scholar at Thang Long University; principal researcher at the Hanoi Institute for Social and Medical Studies (ISMS); research scholar at the Oxford Institute of Population Ageing, University of Oxford (United Kingdom); research scholar at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research, University of Tasmania (Australia).
Associate Professor Long's research areas include economics of population aging, social protection, health insurance, and social insurance. He is the principal author and co-author of numerous research articles published in prestigious international journals, such as Ageing and Society, Asian Economic Journal; Asia Pacific Economic Literature; Development and Change; International Social Science Journal; and Social Science and Medicine.
Associate Professor Long is a member of the drafting committee for Vietnam's Social Protection Strategy 2011-2020; a key member of the research project on reforming Vietnam's social assistance system 2017-2021 (MPSARD) and the research project on social insurance reform 2017-2025 with a vision to 2025 (MPSIR), both under the management of the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA).
He received his master's degree in public policy from Hitotsubashi University, Japan, and his Ph.D. in Public Policy from the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Japan.
